Using the Rules Page to add, delete, and edit rules, and move rule processing priority up or down.

  • New. Click this button to add a new rule. The Add Rule page appears.

  • Edit. Select a rule, then click this button to edit an existing rule.

  • Move Up. Select a rule, then click this button to move the selected rule higher in the processing order. Rules are processed in the order in which they appear in the Rules list.

  • Move Down. Select a rule, then click this button to move the selected rule lower in the processing order. Rules are processed in the order in which they appear in the Rules list.

  • Delete. Select a rule, then click this button to delete it.

  • Name. This column displays the name(s) of the listed rule(s).

  • Actions. This column displays the action to apply to the message when the specified conditions are met.

  • Conditions. This column displays the conditions (message part + search text) assigned to the rule.

  • Destination. This column displays the targeted mailbox that will receive messages selected by the rule.

Creating Rules

Note: Before you can create a rule with multiple conditions, you must create and save the rule with an initial condition.

To create a rule:

  1. In the lower left-hand pane, click the Rules tab. The Rules page appears.

  2. Click the New button. The Add Rule page appears.

Once you've navigated to the Add Rule page, creating the rule is a three-step process.

  1. Enter a name for this Rule.  

  • Enter a name for the rule in the Rule name text box

  1. Add Rule Conditions.

  • Click the Add button. The Add Rule Condition page appears.

  • Choose one of the following from the Where list box to designate which message part the condition applies to:

  • From

  • Subject

  • Send

  • To

  • Body

  • Header

  • Choose one Comparison option:

  • Contains

  • Does NOT Contain

  • In the Search text box, enter the text your rule will search for.

  • Select Match Case if you wish the search text to match the case entered in the Search text box.

  • Click Save and Close to return to the Edit Rule page.

  1. Set the action to take when conditions listed above are met.

  • Select one of the following Action Types from the list box:

  • Move to mailbox

  • Forward

  • Delete

  • Copy

  • Bounce

  • In the Target text box, enter the email address of the target mailbox that will receive messages that are selected by your rule.

  • Click Save and Close to return to the Rules page, with your new Rule displayed.
