YOU ARE ABOUT TO ENTER A "DESIGN-YOUR-OWN-CLIMB" WEBSITE:

Please read the following to the bottom, then "click" on "agree" or "disagree":

DESIGN-YOUR-OWN-CLIMB: A NEW AND ECONOMICAL APPROACH TO EXPEDITIONS

BEFORE VIEWING THE SITE, WE WISH TO ENSURE THAT YOU ARE AWARE OF, AND FULLY ACCEPT THE FOLLOWING POINTS, THEN "AGREE" OR "DISAGREE" BELOW:

* Our "basic climb" (Cost: $6950,  £3950,  €5850) includes:

1. Coordinator: Daniel Mazur, climber-leader-organizer of Everest, K2, and 12 "eight-thousand-metre-peaks";
2. Organizer: Jon Christian Otto, fluent Chinese speaker, Tibet and China Expert, with 10 years Himalayan climbing experience;
3. All permit fees and liaison officers;
4. Transport to basecamp to/from Kathmandu, for your personal equipment only (boots, ice axe, clothing, sleeping bag), including accommodation and meals on the road;
5. Yak transport of your personal equipment only (boots, ice axe, clothing, sleeping bag), from the road to and from advanced basecamp;
6. Emergency equipment and supplies: medical oxygen, gamow bag, basecamp medical kit, high-altitude medical kits, etcetera;
7. Other necessary services and supplies (ie: extra yaks, cooked-meals and hot drinks in basecamp), may be purchased and hired at minimal expense.

Add the following services to the basic climb:

Basecamp kitchen, cooks, meals, dining, and sleeping tents: $3450, £1950,  €2950.

Advanced basecamp kitchen, cooks, meals, dining, and sleeping tents: $3450, £1950,  €2950.

High altitude sherpas, tents, equipment, walkie-talkies, food, stoves, fuel, etcetera: $6950,  £3950,  €5850.

1. This trip may seem inexpensive. The reason is: no one from our organization goes on the expedition (unless you hire Himalayan and Everest Veteran Daniel Mazur to lead your expedition, or some of our excellent Sherpas to assist you). It is an unaccompanied, "Design-Your-Own-Climb" expedition.

2. The prices quoted above do not include basecamp services and supplies, transport, nor do they include any high-altitude services, equipment nor supplies. These can be hired and purchased at a nominal additional cost.

3.  You must provide documentation that you have climbed to 6800 metres within the last three years.

4. You must provide us with the completed medical forms, signed by your doctor. Prior to joining our group, please see your doctor and obtain the necessary permission and advice, as well as medications for travel in extremes of altitude, and also for exotic locales.

5. To participate in this climb you must be a very fit and active cold-weather climber and camper in good health. Obviously, Everest is the highest mountain in the world, and there are significant hazards present. Members must have knowledge of roped winter climbing techniques to protect for crevasse-falls, as well as use of fixed lines.  Above ABC, all members must be prepared to join a rope with another team member.

6. You must have an awareness of altitude sickness, frostbite, and the recognition of their symptoms, prevention, and treatment.

7. You must join this expedition with a climbing partner, or hire one of our Sherpas to accompany you. If you do not know anyone who will climb together with you, please join our "secure climbing partner chat room".

8. We only welcome members who agree to the following: Above ABC, all members must be roped to another team member.  Neither solo climbing, nor descending, are allowed above ABC.

9. Make sure you have physically trained yourself very thoroughly before joining this climb.

10. Snow-shoes, skis, or a split-board are required for ascending Mustagh-Ata above camp 1. If you are skiing or snowboarding, you must be expert, and you must provide documentation to demonstrate it.

11. You must show proof of travel and mountain rescue insurance, and you must provide an "emergency letter", showing your credit card and the contact details of a person who speaks fluent english, and is ready to wire funds on your behalf, 24 hours each day.

After reading the above, please "click" one of the following:

No, I am not interested, please return me to the full-service website.

Yes, I have read the above. I understand and am in total agreement. Please direct me to the "design-your-own-climb" website.
