BECKY'S ACCIDENT |
UPDATES FROM BARRY.... | |||
|
Since the last update, Becky has
made great strides. Instead of going 6 minutes on the treadmill,
she goes over a mile, and puts in about 6 miles a day on a
recumbent bicycle. As we mentioned back in March, Becky and
Barry did go to Brisbane Australia where Becky spoke at a
women's retreat. Over 500 women came to the event and responded
very well to Becky's testimony entitled, "14 Miles From Wisdom:
Things I Learned by Accident." Becky had been invited to speak
there before her accident, but her experience since then helped
her connect with the audience in a much deeper way. Many women
came to her after the meetings to share their hearts, struggles
and pain. Becky prayed with them and ministered to many of them
one-on-one. After that, she and Barry had a great time, visiting
Hamilton Island near the Whitsunday Islands, and seeing much of
the North Island of New Zealand.
Physically Becky has made some
significant improvements. While on vacation this summer we
met with some old friends from our Yakima Church. After
being together for a while they asked, "Have you ever prayed
for healing?" of course we said we had. Then they asked,
"Well, could we pray for you?" We said yes, and went to a
quite place where we could pray together. They laid hands on
Becky and prayed for her healing. The very next day Becky
noticed a great decrease in muscle tone on her left side.
Seeing her Physical Therapist the next week she said,
"Becky, I've never seen you so straight!" (the tone tends to
pull Becky's left side down). Measuring Becky's hips she
found that without any therapy, they were perfectly aligned.
(Usually the therapist has to work on her for 90 minutes for
it to be even close). Then Becky went to her occupational
therapist and he immediately noticed a change and said,
"I've never seen your wrist so loose!" Praise God for His
continued healing!
