Plaza de Mulas Basecamp

Looking up the trail in the Horcones Valley.  It is easy walking, and they have added some bridges recently.  Aconcagua is in the background.  (Photo:  Ryan Waters)

Nido de Condores; this is "Camp 1" for the Normal Route, at 5365 meters.  It is a beautiful place, easy to get to, and there are great views.  Risa Hellman is pictured on the right, and she is enjoying the climb in this picture.  (Photo:   Tom Proctor)

Paul Jensen in the Canaleta (6750m).  The Canaleta is a 30 degree valley of loose boulders.  It is a little frustrating, walking on all these loose rocks.   (Photo:  Daniel Mazur)

Looking into the Canaleta
Looking into the Canaleta from just below the summit (6900 meters).  You can see all of the Canaleta.  Guanaco Ridge is on the left, and in the  notch at the bottom of the Canaleta, is the Nido de Condores area around 5000 meters.  (Photo:  Daniel Mazur)
